Voting republican accomplishes only two things:
1. Keeps taxes low (if you're rich).
2. Ensures that the crooks in the Whitehouse can continue to pay kickbacks to their oil buddies and laugh at the rest of America who thinks they really care about the Religjous Right.

This is an excellent question that would take me a few paragraphs to answer but it is late so I will try to summarize.

In brief, it has to do with being uneducated and easily manipulated by propaganda that targets their downcomings and prejudices.

Believe it or not, Rove has been quoted as using prejudices to manipulate votes of the poor.

You see, it is like this: if you can keep the poor ppl angry for being poor then they want to blame someone... then you convince them that the liberal socialist democrats just want to use all their hard earned tax dollars to pay for the 10 kid black family on welfare... things like that.

Reality is that more white poor on on welfare... it is because of the midwestern states.

Anyways that is only one example but the bottom line is that their prejudices have been manipulated. Btw, I know this from first hand experience having been raised in a bigoted, Southern Repoublican family.

I wish we could sit everybody down that makes under $250k per year and make them watch congressional debates of that past 15 years... they would see that it is the democratic party up there in Washington fighting for them, not the Republican party.

Maybe because they have an interest in what is best for the country.

The rich pay this countries bills. Bonus checks tend to be taxed at about 50% (fed, state, local, SSI, Medicare, etc...+/- 2 %) How's that for a tax break?

You obviously are not well educated regarding who pays the taxes. The top 1% pay 37% of the revenue. Is that another indicator of those wonderful tax breaks of which you speak.

Don't be envious.

If you win Lotto, let me know how happy you are when your partner, the Taxman takes his 50%+ cut.

I know go figure makes no sense at all been asking myself that same question for a long time wake up unless you earn at least 100,000 a year you should keep the repubs out of office as all they do is help themselves and the rich millionaires get richer by giving tax cuts to those with the most money man it sucks to be a millionaire or billionaire "I need a tax break or I might go broke in a million years" I say no taxes for anyone earning under 30,000 a year and anyone earning 100,000 and up get taxed and the more you earn the higher the tax and the more you hoard away in banks and off shore accounts while people are starving the more taxes you pay tax the rich spare the poor. repubs stop helping the rich get richer and poor to get poorer

While I feel like the republicans are greedy wastes of food, you must admit that they are much more sophisticated in their strategies. They "embrace" the religious right, in order to garner those votes, and pad their numbers to further their agendae. I guess the middle American farmers can only hope the republicans bring along the K-Y.

I think you're generalizing. My dad always voted democrat because his union told him that was the poor man's party. That's a big misnomer. Democrats (esp. here in California) have mismanaged funds horribly, i.e., like taken the tax money from our gasoline tax for roads and put them into special interests like Planned Parenthood. When you choose to vote Republican, usually the candidates are helping everyone when they lower taxes for businesses since they in turn provide jobs for many others. Also, they certainly support family values better than most democrats like against partial-birth abortion, for marriage being between one man and one woman. We need to vote against Carol Corrigan and others who will change America for the worse.

"i individually lived in the process the chilly conflict era. regardless of if, Reagan did greater to guard the U.S. than the different president in cutting-edge historic past. Reagan greater suitable govt. spending for under one reason, to bankrupt the U.S.. while the Soviet Union grew to grow to be a non-threat it replaced into then a threat to redirect spending to different themes." Reagan spent yet another one hundred b on protection to a entire of three hundred b. It now stands at 800b. increasing money on the protection tension is not any magic feat, all presidents did it. We now understand that it replaced right into a silly situation because of the fact the Soviet Union replaced right into a paper tiger, waiting to interrupt down, and stuffed with inner divisions.

Because they some day hope to be rich.

They want to be paid for hard work and not in a socialist system.

They do not want their property taken away and given to others.

I think they should vote libertarian personally because the Republicans have moved away from their small government roots.

Racism, religious fundamentalism, they're only pretending they're rich or that acting like a Republican will let them into the group, they respond to the deeply dumbed-down public relations of the Republicans.

People who don't have money vote Republican for the same reason
that people with money vote Republican..
Because they love our nation and understand that we are at war
with the Islamofaschist religious fanatics who want to destroy us.
WW3 started on Sept 11, 2001..
We can either fight it over there, or over here..
If you want to fight it over there, vote Republican..
If you want to fight it over here, vote Democratic...
And THAT is why people with common sense vote Republican.
