I don't know but the first artist to draw a picture of any aeroplane/airplane from imagination was Lenardo da Vinci

ROY LICHTENSTIEN, the painting was called ''WHAM'
This was a tribute to the comic book artists of the thirties and forties
who inspired the very artists to which you refer, most of the decal work was done by the stations resident artist, or signwriter i do not know of any one singled out for his creations but i would be very interested to add to my reference collection any info that you come up with and i will continue to reference if possible if i am successful i will post it . regards LF
