Evil exists in the world, and sometimes you have to defend yourself from it with force.
If an enemy wants to kill you, there is little that non-violent resistance can do to save you.

I don't think "talking" as we are doing now makes you a pacifist.. I believe part of the process with almost anything is to try and talk it out.I don't like the thought of war, who does? Sometimes talking doesn't solve all things, but does open the mind to others opinions and feelings. When it doesn't do that any longer then resorting to war is sometimes necessary. Even though it would be or should be a "LAST RESORT" to a situation that has gone unresolved and ignored time after time. Sometimes we have no choice. We are pushed into war and are forced to like it or not..So I'd rather be pacifies first and second and a third time before I would engage in the thought of war !!!!!!

Yes, think of Independence Day. Yes, I realize that was a movie, but if you look at it as a metaphor for how some people feel about us (the US) it's great. Remind you of any other groups on this planet?
Remember when the president asked the alien if there was anything he wanted? He replied, "Die, die, ...." How does anyone respond to that?
PS I'd like to say I was a pacifist. It sounds so much nicer. But it also sounds a lot deader when you get down to it.

i would be for war if it would not kill so many innocent lives and destroy cities. war doesn't solve the problem, it only makes opponents more violent and thoughtless.

Of course if you are being attacked. This is rational if you make the logical choice of attacking those who attack you instead of people who haven't attacked you.
