Is the data stored as some flash ram type thing or what?

The results will be the same whether they are on or off or whether anyone votes or not...

Supposedly, and I just heard this recently on PBS The Newshour, all votes from electronic voting machines are routed to one central headquarters server... so, up to the point of the power outage, I would assume the votes are counted.

Btw, many locations that use electronic voting machines do NOT have backup power systems. For example, here in NC, we use them and many of our voting areas are in schools etc... with no power backup systems.

All voting machines have a ups power backup system.

I believe they have a Duracell battery backup.
