You aren't up to date, hon. Madonna did offer the father money to help him raise his son. He is remarried and has one other child by his new wife. He doesn't want this son out of fear that he might also have AIDS since his mother and other siblings all died from AIDS. Madonna got permission to have the boy tested for all diseases and he is ok (so far). The father said that it would be better for her to take him and give him a good life because he can't do that in their country. The father turned down the offer of money. Madonna promised him that she would bring his son back to their country once a year so they can still have a family bond. She and Guy have temporary custody of him for 18 months and if all is ok, they can legally adopt him and have full custody then. Plus the boy's family was never around the orphanage to check up on him. He was dropped there by his father after his mother died and his father never returned thinking that he too was going to die.
I think what she did was great. It's the media that screwed it all up and frightened the man and the village. Imagine living there and all of a sudden finding out that your son is still alive and a rich white American wants to adopt him and then reporters and camera are all around you for days and days. The media should have stayed away from Africa and asked to interview Madonna when she returned to London later.

Do I think she would lie in general, yes, she has and would it's part of her history all of us have history though. It's the nature of celebrity.
Do I think she would lie empirically now given her spiritual state, No I don't.
Do I think she would lie about the custody, etc., No I don't.
Do I agree with orchidmg's summation of the scene, Yes I do.
There is a lack of communication that occured that is all. And yeah if I were in the father's shoes I would have probably walked away that way too and would be scared and confused by the twisted spinning of the media, they're so off base it's not funny.

I don't know whether Madonna lied or not...I imagine she has lied lots in her life...nobody has a career like hers without stepping on a lot of toes...but whether she lied about the adoption...I don't care...she gave a child a chance at a much better life...that's all I see.

She would not want her inner maximum existence to be in public. This determination is between her and her husband, to no longer the international. Madonna isn't conversing to the widespread public, in basic terms those it incredibly is representing her.

She's an opportunistic Moron, Always wanting publicity to promote her tour and album, remember the cross burning before and recently upset the Church. Now she pretend to be a good Samaritan. She's full of S hit.. Not worth to talk about.

Does it really matter if Madonna lied or not, what really matters is that a little boy who had absolutely nothing and was in a country where he would never have the same opportunity to learn and become something was given the chance to achieve and grow in a country that will benefit him for the rest of his life. I wish Madonna would adopt more children. Who cares who she is or what she has? I doubt if the parents of the child are trying to get money out of her. I'm sure they are happy to have their son live a better life.
Encore .....Madonna ....Encore

The Baby isn't a doll; she'll have made a strong emotional connection by now. I think she should just stay the course.

Of course she would lie, the whole thing is nothing but a publicity stunt to prop up her faltering career.

is it Madonna you find it difficult to believe would lie because you know her, or because she is a celebrity? I suspect the latter
