A recent study has shown that it can be of benefit to Alzheimer's patients.
It can also be of benefit as an anti-depressant, and as a pain killer.

There are many benefits to smoking "pot". I suggest that you read the documented facts - the answers you are receiving are only their opinion. None of which are factual. One thing I can tell you that is a proven fact. Smoking dope before your brain has developed, male/female 21-yrs is the average age, will cause permanent "short term" brain damage. The short term bank is what your running on when your awake. This is when you learn and retain matter. If your smoking dope during these "learning" hours, your brain will not store the information at night when you are sleeping. That is when the "long term" part of the brain goes to work, and just like your computer, it cleans out the garbage and stores the hard facts. If you were stoned during the day, in class, at work, etc, etc, NONE of the information you learned will be retained. NOW go to the nearest library and read ALL the proven medical information. Its right at you hand. If you want the correct answer to an important question, such as this one, go to the correct source. If you like the feeling you get when smoking pot - only smoke it during your leisure hours and don't smoke anything when your in school.

-Glacoma -Depression -Back Pain -Insomnia -Anxiety/stress relief -Loss of appetite -Safe recreational drug(can't overdose, doesn't cause brain damage, very minor lung damage if any at all assuming you use it correctly) -Safe medical drug(can't overdoes, ect ect.) -Less Addictive than caffine -Helps ADD -Helps ADHD -Assists in lung cancer treatment -Helped me bring failing grades in high school to A's and B's(just a personal experience, may not apply to everyone) It doesn't cause brain damage, this myth was created by a scientist at tulane where he got a monkey, put a gas mask on his face and replaced his air with smoke from extremely potent cannabis, the equivilent of 6 large joints. Since all smoke contains carbon monoxide and the monkey didn't get any air breaks its obvious that the carbon monoxide and lack of oxygen would cause damage to the brain, lung, throat and mouth, depdning on how well the monkey was strapped to the table/chair. there was a study of motorskills in Older smokers vs people who havn't consumed any illegal drugs and there wasn't a significant difference, actually the cannabis smokers performed slightly better. Cannabis is not a gateway drug, it is often recommended to get peopel to stop using tobacco, oppium, and percribed pain medicines. Cannabis is less addictive than caffine, a legal substance sold to children on a massive level every day. And you can over does on caffine, but not on THC(active ingredient in Cannabis aka Marijuaana). So you can beleive these bogus myths the federal and many state governments support that they gained from experiments REJECTED by the science community or you can do research and find the truth.

i don't care what anyone says, smoking weed, esp.Hydro is just as bad for you as smoking ice or crack.
I've been on the **** since i was 13y/o and i'm 21.
It's left me with a really paranoid view of everything, it neirly cost me the love of my life, and it's just straight out crap.
please do yourself a favour and steer clear of it.
It's more beneficial for you to drink lots of Red Bull, or even take a little speed every now and then, not that i'm suggesting that anyone do it. At least you get energy and exercise, and if you don't take it too far you will be ok.

Nope. If you are a pro pot smoker you won't believe anything that you don't want to hear. If you want to argue that it reduces nausea, I can't argue with you. If you want to suggest that it helps some people with nausea who are terminally ill or fighting for their life with chemotherapy, then go for it. Wouldn't it be ironic if someone undergoing chemo for one form of cancer ended up dying from lung cancer from smoking pot.
Eileen, you describing lethargy and apathy.

I know some people use it for pain. Others say it relaxes them. You need to watch though because there are also bad side effects i.e. memory loss and being a lot more damaging to your lungs than ordinary cigarette smoke. Recent studies have also suggested that long-term it could lead to psychosis and anxiety attacks.
