WOW...
Blockbuster perfection. An exhilaratingly brainy thriller. Not since the advent of Harry
Potter has an author so flagrantly delighted in leading readers on a breathless chase and
coaxing them through hoops. Thriller writing doesn't get any better than this.
A heart-racing thriller.
This story has so many twists -- all satisfying, most unexpected -- that it would be a sin
to reveal too much of the plot in advance. Let's just say that if this novel doesn't get
your pulse racing, you need to check your meds.

If you haven't already, read Dan Brown's other works, especially "Angels and Demons." Another author I would suggest is Arturo Perez-Reverte. "The Flanders Panel" and "The Club Dumas" have the same sort of mystery puzzle style as "The Da Vinci Code." If you like that aspect of it, you might also like Katherine Neville's works such as "The Eight" or Umberto Eco's works such as "The Name of the Rose." Reviewers have taken to saying that Neville, Eco, and Brown make a trio of good reading. If you like one of those authors, you will probably like the other two. Some other books you might like are "The Dante Club" and "The Poe Shadow" by Matthew Pearl and "The Rule of Four" by Ian Caldwell and Dustin Thomason. All of these books basically follow the same theme of a race to solve a puzzle by following scattered clues and they are all very well written.

If by "concept" you mean the notion that Jesus fathered a bloodline that continued in France, then I highly recommend "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" - by Baigent, Lincoln, and Leigh. It was the book that led Dan Brown to court to defend his use of the ideas in their book for his book. Regardless of the legal case, the book raises some fascinating questions about the very foundation of Western Civilization. "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" is a great place to start and will lead you to additional books on the same subject.
But, it's not written in the same style, so if you mean "concept" like page-turner thriller, then go for anything by John Grisham or, if you're desperate, Michael Crichton. By the way, a more interesting author of fact based thrillers is Jon Krakauer - author of "Into Thin Air" and "Into the Wild" among others.

Holy Blood, Holy Grail by Michael Baigent and two more authors.
The three authors sued Dan Brown in 2005 but I think they didn't succeed.

Dan Brown also has a book entitled "Angels and Demons" which is about the illuminati coming back on to the scene and executing catholic priests. It is very good as well.

Paulo Coelho 's "Eleven Minutes" - would be a welcome read for you
or Angels and Demons by the same author.
Vary your reading material. You will discover a whole wide world out there, travelling to places you never dreamt you would "see".
