The Annexation of Mexico and Cuba...Good Idea or Bad?

Question

I think instead of building walls and fences on the Texas border, that maybe we should start negotiating annexing portions of Mexico and Cuba (when Castro Dies). I think it’s a better idea to add stars on the flag instead of building border walls. Am I right or just dreaming of American Imperialism?

the U.S is already working on that, they plan to annex Mexico and Canada by 2010 I don't know what the people think but both governments have not rejected the idea, that is the reason for the supper hi way that runs from Canada to Mexico.

Why would the U.S. want to annex anything in Mexico proper or even Baja California? It would add greatly to our own cost to help these people through government means. Virtually everyone would be on government assistance. We already have a deficit that is uncontrollable and we will pay for that after the Bush is gone. We have to solve our own problems before we could take on something like that. Our money is not endless, Bush just thinks it is. You need more, you print more. Every time that happens, the American dollar becomes worth less in the world market.

Just dreaming of American Imperialism. It sounds like a good idea, but it would run into so many more problems. Sometimes I think we should try to help them build better governments and stronger economies, but I doubt it would ever work out the way we expect it to. Whenever we get involved with trying to "help" other countries, it usually ends up backfiring.

007 is right, there is significant movement afoot right now to lure Canada and Mexico into a North American Union. Not much is made public, but this is the solution that will eventually be offered in the immigration dispute.

Wont occur with Mexico, but I know Mexico wants Pureto Rico immigration rules, but we need to carrot and stick approach to allow it to happen. Like, less thuggery, curroption by the Mexican goverment, and reform tax, labor regulations. Mexico wants to be intergrated with the Untied States we should encourage it long to reduce northern Migration, and overtime Mexican and Americans can live in both countries as they please is a good goal for the long term, but thier lots to work on with both sides in regrads to that. EU style realationship is not what is needed here, but a moderinazation of labor, tax, laws, for a Puerto Rico deal to occur with Mexico. United States should build a commonwealth. Cuba, Castro dies and the commies like money American mobsters, Mexicans thuggys will pour over Havana like vulutres will see it occur one day???
