What is your definition of evil?

Mine is "disrupting innocent/uninvolved third parties in your life affairs." That is that basically when someone has a problem with someone else, they are evil when they drag in people who had nothing to do with the circumstances. We all have problems and disagreements but do we need to spread them to others unconcerned?

Exampls would be terrorists killing people in the world trade centers due to a disagreement with US leadership. They were evil because they did not take up their issue with those they disagreed with and just killed random people-many of whom probably did not like US policy either.

Any good definitions that encompass what you define as "evil"?

Evil: to inflict pain or misfortune, to wish pain or misfortune, or to learn that pain or misfortune befell an individual or group and to be void of remorse, consternation or compassion for the suffering and instead assume an air of insidious contentment—or at best, indifference.

An evil vampire…thrives from sucking the life out of others.

Being evil is when you act and think in a single perspective, mostly for personal gain which comes in many forms such as recognition and monetary rewards. When you are evil, you are not empathetic of others. Think about it. It is all about you, you, you.

A sweeping generalization:

The definition of "evil" depends solely on what "moral" beliefs one holds. "Evil" being the antithesis of one's "morals".

For example:
If one finds that preserving life is a positive "moral", their idea of "evil" would be the ending of life.

Furthermore (kinda out on a limb):
If one found killing to be "moral", then in their eyes, the preservation of life is "evil".

NOBODY knows truly what is Evil and what is good. One man's evil is another man's good. Evil is a judgment call and it's open to broad interpretation to be ANYTHING.

To me, there is no good or evil, there is just cause and its effect.

The definition of evil is simple: forgetfulness of God. When we choose to ignore Him and forget about Him, then this is the beginning of evil. It is like sunshine and darkness. If we are not on the sunshine we will be in darkness. Similarly if we are not conscious of God we will be overpowered by evil.

I'm naive and don't want to believe in evil. I don't think bad people are evil. They just think differently.
