My neighbour has a lovely 2 year old who I took out for halloween. While out at the local mall I dropped into the hairdresser to cut the child's hair. When I arrived home and returned the child to the parents they were angry with me for cutting the hair, stating for religious purposes they keep it messy etc. I did not know that. Tonight the Father arrived at my door to show me the "blothched haircut". I did not answer the knock on the door. He called me onthe cellphone. He said he was here to show me the terrible haircut I had given the child and how she looked now. I told him to "count me out as a friend". He said "I will do that right now. I don't need you". These people were good friends of mine and now we are not speaking and I am afraid of what they might do later....perhaps a lawsuit or something. Need help now.

Well, I, personally wouldn't have cut the hair of a child that didn't belong to me without their parent's permission. I think you owe them an apology. That goes a long way to soothing someone's anger, you know; a simple, "please forgive me, I was wrong".

boy....that was a huge mistake....you could've just bought her a beautiful ribbon to wear in her hair. I'm guessing that you do not have children of your own. That was like having her ears pierced
or giving her a tatoo. Of course hair grows back. I get the feeling that you had the best of intentions. Write them a long letter. Beg for forgiveness. Tell them that you learned a great lesson and hope they don't charge you with some child-emotional abuse.
Of course the emotional abuse is coming from the parents extreme response to your actions. BUT DON'T say that to them.
But keep that in mind if you end up hiring a lawyer. Good luck...I'll pray for you..........we have all done something like this,
before we had kids anyway.

it is really wrong to do something to the child without the permission of the parents of the child. put know the problem is already there. as for forgiveness don't avoid them. say sorry and ask them what you could do to repay them. and how that is not the reason to ruin the friendship you had with them.

Apologize and apologize.
I would have been furious, and I'm an incredible liberal on the pomp and circumstance stuff.

I wouldn't presume to even take my niece or nephew for a hair cut.

I'm afraid you blew it.

He is not as religious as he professes. Where is his foregiveness? Keep away.
