other A group elements means IA and II A.
IIIA to VIIA group elements are absolutely different from the I A and IIA. Ia and IIa are metals while IIIa to VII a these are non-metals. former ones have a tendency to give electrons and therefore form cations in ionic cmpds while latter ones tend to gain electrons and therefore form anions. there are lots of other differences. if u want to have the detail differences u must go through some 11th and 12 th standard books.
