will the scales grow back again?

Usually when a pearlscale looses it scales they will grow back as normal flat scales. Is there a reason why the fish is loosing its scales? Does it have a parasite, are there sharp objects in the tank and they are getting rubbed off or are other fish chasing this fish around and they are getting knocked off?

i had given my mother some pearlscales several years ago and I noticed that they too lost some of their pearls, otherwise the fish were fine...maybe they are not full blooded pearlscales

not sure it could be a condition called ick. go to a fish store and ask about the drops for your tank to cure it. good luck
