Who told you it can't be? There seems to be this myth that only men understand the difference between sex and love (that to women sex equates love).
How can men have "hook ups" unless there are women out there who also enjoy "hook ups"?
My question back at you would be - what are you really looking for? Do you want a one-night-stand, or a friends-with-benefits situation (the later means you have a friend with whom you can have casual sex)?
The first is easy to find, but has certain inherent dangers. Most one night stands are strangers. That means you don't know what they are really like. They might be nice. They might be nice, but have STDs you don't want to catch. Or you might get very unlucky and end up with some pervert or serial killer.
I'm not trying to scare you. Just be aware that there are risks. If you want a one-nighter, find someone online and don't meet up with them until after you have chat or email each other a few times. You can still be fooled, but it does increase the chance that your 'warning bells' will go off if there is something wrong with the guy. You can also set terms - insist on a recent STD test showing they are healthy, and tell them that you insist they use condoms.
Friends with benefits are harder to find. Technically, this is a relationship - just a casual one. It tends to be safer because you know them.

Because love making wasn't mean't to be just purely physical. It was meant for two people who love each other to share something special with one another but no we have one night stands cheating and all that. If everyone put and end to sleeping around we wouldn't have to worry about people dropping dead because of dieases like AIDS.and crying about getting STD'S and much more. Also it just can't be purely physical because we was born with feelings and feelings tend to make us do stupid and crazy things. That's why we shouldn't sleep around but we do!

The thing is... it can be 'just that'... physical. Let's face it, skin-on-skin is an amazing feeling, something we all crave. So, we can either try and hide that craving until the right one comes along, or we can feed that craving. Me? I'll go for the feeding ;)

It can but forbidden sex is good sex and by it being forbidden you want it more and more. Do you really think you can screw the boss 1 time. What if he don't like it? Hit you one time and that it then you gone get mad and so on . Girl leave the boss alone and go screw the mail boy

Because of the emotional connection. you are getting so close. I personally think it has to do with physical boundries, but that's just my personal guess.

sometimes it is but you have to remember that it is a very intimate act and most people get emotionally involved... some so it is the sharing of souls...i guess that is what makes us different than animals...
