I mean in a free world this means even ppl who have no intelligence still have the right to help choose our leaders and etc...should there be a certain IQ level you have to maintain to become a registered voter?
Has anyone seem the man show where they go out w/ a "stop womens suffrage" sign and have women sign for this "cause" and they get ALOT of women who do sign for this? Should ppl that ignorant be allowed to vote for our leaders of this free world? I mean to me this taints the whole system.

There are many places where the simple act of voting is still not allowed is there not?
If the saying is correct and "nothing in life is free" then somewhere along the way the education system has failed a whole lot of people.
How can you say one even has to have a certain IQ when as your aware registering to vote doesn't even require a High School Education.
If there was an IQ level necessary for voting maintenance, do you think you would be able to keep your voting card?
Everything costs money and the testing in order to vote would only place "another label" on our already over tagged population! Who needs the paperwork?
The vote, for those who believe it makes a difference, is a privilege that many do not utilize at all and therefore a majority of the non-voters may be the ones whose intelligence ranges are within those figures that you seek.
When your in that box it doesn't matter how dumb or smart you are what matters is that your there and your making choices to feel better about your life and the decisions being made which affect you in the long run.
IDEA: Try finding those people who you know are within suitable intelligence quotient ranges. You know the ones suitable to your standards and get them registered!! ? !!
Perhaps you could start your own party:
"The Smarter-craticans".
..............think about it...............

Well, the whole system has been tainted for a long while. Stupid doesn't cover it. It is colossal ignorance by the small percentage that actually vote, and it is Machiavellian steering by Government Party A and Government Party B. Like an avalanche that slowly starts and slowly gathers speed until it is a fearsome wall of destruction, so too our country is slipping slowly into a despotic, communitarian form. Individual freedoms are slowly being replaced by community values. If a man can be taken to court for killing a rat, and a sheriff be fired for calling his men too fat, common sense has long disappeared. If a jury can award a woman millions of dollars because she put her hot coffee between her legs as she drove, and call the fast food place negligent because the coffee spilled, then that same jury and multitudes like them can and do elect abject fools into office. People only care that their car takes them to work and back; their television works, the beer is cold, and the pizza is hot. Entertainment is the opiate of the people. While we are sotted on entertainment, sneaky people in government are fast pulling the wool over our eyes. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. In our supreme ignorance; we allowed it.

True Democracy and Representative Democracy (which is what we have) have many weaknesses, the biggest one being that the systems include everyone, even the incompetent. In order for either systems of democracy to work, the populace must be informed and educated. Without voter competence, democracy is doomed. The soultion is improving our educational system, not excluding the uneducated from the political system.

i was just talking to a friend about that the other day, with the womans suffrage thing. IQ isnt always the answer, though. There's no good way to test the masses ability to make sound judgement.

It gets complicated. Some intelligent people are only concerned about themselves and wouldn't care how much others got hurt by their decisions. Some not so bright people have big hearts and compassion for others. It's a zoo but I'm just another animal so who am I to say.

unfortunately free doesnt equal informed. I think there should be an IQ test for that.
It like the saying, you need a license to drive a car, operate a boat, catch a fish ....but they will let any @sshole have a kid and be in charge of another human life.

i agree with you there are A LOT of ignorant people in this world who don't deserve the right to vote. But its only fair that if we have freedom for one person we have to have freedom for the other or else then we might have those ignorant people rebelling. One ignorant person alone might not do much but a group of them is scary.

I'd rather have lots of people blindly running around free, as opposed to everyone being lemmings and not having a say in whether we are herded over a cliff.
It's scary, I'll grant you. But anything else rapidly gets worse.
