15 is definitely not too old to start playing the drums. i think yo ucan start playing any time. if you're worried about how good you'll be, don't expect to be a grand master right at the start. it really depends on how often you practice.
drums are a very rewarding instrument, i absolutely love playing drums. i took piano before i played drums, and that helped a little, but they're really not all THAT similar. tap dancing might help though, because that means that you've got rhythm!

I took drum lessons when I was 25. It's never too late. But I would suggest you have a garage or a sound-insulated room, because I didn't (was in an apartment) and let me tell you that it gets boring when you have to practice syncopation exercises on a pad (or phonebook). I stopped taking them because it took me too much time to travel to and from the practice studio. But if you have the opportunity to have a drumset at home, go for it!! It's like therapy. Sooo cool. If I get the chance, I will take up the drums again.

it is definately not too late for you to begin drumming. i always wanted to play drums since i was a kid and began to play when i was about 28 years old. i had no musical training at all in any instrument. i'm so glad i didn't let age stop me! there is nothing like playing drums and don't let anyone tell you different. i've even played with a few bands, which wouldn't have happened if i didn't pursue drumming.
today is the day to drum
drum on!!

It's not too late. My husband learned how to play the drums when he was 21 or 22. It's never too late to try something new. Go for it!

Oh wow did you ever hit home with this one, for your own eyes and any doubts go to You Tube, type in Sandy West, listen to her play the heck out of them skins, she started the 1st all girl rock band with Joan Jett at age 15, it is the gospel truth, when I first met her I ofcourse being from Montreal had never heard of her, also I was into country,I know I was odd, however a super friend and member of her band The Sandy West Band, has put up several videos, watch her last msg, it shows her best as there are alot of clips, pls do this for you,or if you would do it for the best friend ever, she lost her battle with cancer but in the msg you can tell she never lost herself ever!!!

It's never too late!!! I started playing guitar at 15 and I'm 19 now I'm not bad but I'm not excellent...But I'm practicing and I took classes and such and I can play pretty good. Play my own songs and parts of songs from the radio. So just take classes and practice.
