Make straight A's, be strong in math and science,
got to college or one of the military academy's (preferred), make straight A's. join the military, become a pilot, a test pilot and apply, then Wait years for you turn to come up. Good luck!!!

Well, it's a long road, bro. First, stay in school and go to college. Try to get a private pilot's license in the meantime, since all astronausts began as pilots. Once in college, go throught ROTC and then get a commission in either the Navy or Air Force and get accepted to pre-flight school. If you make it that far, proceed to flight school and try to get assigned to jets, as opposed to fix-winged aircraft or helicopters.
Once you are a military jet pilot, and accure a few thousand hours of flight time, get into the test pilot program, since they fly the newest, fastest, meanest, most secret aircraft. Once you are an ace test pilot, you can request admission into NASA'a astronaut program.
The competition is fierce, to say the least. Those guys are the best of the best. Plus, recent budget cutbacks in NASA have made it even a harder road. Good Luck!
