You answer lots and lots of questions. Sometimes it's really fun and you can actually help someone with information. Other times their just people who are surely just bored and ask some really corny questions and looking for people who have the same opinion as they do to answer those questions. As for getting those 10's. You have to have the best answer that the asker is looking for and that's not always easy when, as I said their really looking for someone to validate their own opinion to begin with. I suppose the best way to advance with Yahoo Answers is just " Have Fun". Follow the rules and you'll get more points! One, two or sometimes 10 at a time!!

Pick a catagory that you know something about and are willing to research well. give good answers to 30 and up to 60 people a day,every day for 5 months.

You need lots and lots of 10s every day. At least 50 a day every day, more if you can get it.

maintain multiple accounts and click on your answer as the best answer. fastest way to move up on yahoo answers.
