Read the book... You'd be surprised how easy it is to get into the whole theme. You could also opt getting the audio version of the book, if you can't read, or would rather not.

maybe you should stop being lazy and read the story. It's a great book. It's a shame that you're trying to get everyone else to do your homework. And if you absolutely can't read it, then rent the movie.

to kill a mockingbird is about a girl named scout, and her brother jem and her father atticus, who is a lawyer. there was a black guy who was accused of raping a trashy white girl (mayella ewell), and everyone hates the girl and the girl's father b/c they're trashy and racist. atticus was appointed to defend the black guy, which basically made him very hated by the ewell family.

scout and jem and their friend dill wonder about the mysterious boo radley who lives across the street and is always leaving them presents (like gum) in the knothole of a tree.

atticus loses his case, so mayella ewell wins the case. then one night scout and jem are going to a school play (where scout plays a giant ham and is dressed in a ham costume), where they get attacked by mayella ewell's father. jem gets his arm broken, and scout's ham costume gets stabbed with a knife, but basically boo radley comes out and saves jem and scout's life. the end.
