I mean if i have it in for years, like 2-4 and theni take it out. Would the whole eventually close? And people tell me that i should go to a jewelry shop for the piercing, but dont most tattoo parlors do it too?

I had mine in for two years and haven't worn it in 10 years and it hasn't closed up yet. They say that if you don't pierce through enough skin it will close up but I pierced mine myself and got through about a half an inch and its still there. Yes tattoo shops do it and I would trust them more than I would a jewelry shop. You have to be 18 I think.

every body is different, check to see if it's still open and if not then go to a piercing studio (usually contained within a tattoo shop) and have it redone.
i've got a monroe piercing that i've worn for about 5 years and i'm able to take it out for at least 8 hours without any trouble putting it back in.
good luck.

Though piercing closes after little while. Often, Scar stays behind. Tatoo & Piercing places usually do that. Some of the jewelery places advatize piercing, so check your local malls and jewelery stores.
