Ouch. You desperately need to see a sleep medicine specialist. Are you depressed lately? Maybe you suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder. Are you on any medications? Is your home too warm at night? Maybe you have mild narcolepsy and don't realize it. Are you a snorer? A sleepwalker? All these things tell something about your sleep patterns.
I suffer from several sleep related disorders so I know that you really should see a specialist. He/she can 'wire' you up for a night and see what's going on with your dura matter.
Check out WebMD online and it should give you a start on info and where to find more.
Best wishes to you with this serious problem.

More sleep does not mean better sleep. I would suggest a warm shower and a bit of relaxation before you go to sleep. Do not eat anything heavy in the evening, and maybe go on a light food diet for a while. Do not interrupt the deep sleep for your body needs it for healing and regeneration. Drinking before bed might help you to wake up in the morning. Your bladder is the best alarm clock. Also, ask your doctor to check your thyroid, your blood pressure, blood sugar and the balance of the hormones. Are you on any medication or supplement that might have such side effects? Please consult your pharmacist too. Get well soon!

Do you feel tired most of the day?? Im asking because sometimes there are serious underlying health issues...and this sleeping problem that you may be having might be a symptom of it...also how long has this been going on?? I dont knw how old you are..but if ur a teenager or older its not good for anyone to be sleeping 10 hours or more...its just not healthy.. ..Try going to a doctor if this doesnt get better in another couple of days..I really do hope whatever the problem is that it gets better

Hmmm I've seen this before. My advice for you is have a good strong look at your lifestyle sleeping in maybe a way of your body telling you something is wrong.
Here’s what I would advice you to check and start doing (I'm no doctor, nutritionist or life coach so its strictly IMHO)
Basically over the years I have learnt that feeling tired after long hours of sleep is my body shouting for help (I used to sleep 10 hours and feel tired now I can sleep 5 and feel GREAT) possibly it maybe something to do with the modern lifestyle people tend to live and having excess chemicals our body was never meant to have so a lot of this stuff looks like de-toxing and it is.
1) Make sure your drinking about 4.5 litres of water a day
2) Try to keep the foods you eat to have above 75% water content how do you know your eating the right stuff, go green most of the stuff (volume wise) on you plate should be fruit or vegetables
3) BREATH most people only use the top half of their lungs here’s a quick lesson to breathing properly, basically when you take a deep breath your shoulder stay where they are but your stomach goes out as the bottom half of your lungs get air.
4) Wheat grass - have wheat grass during the day, it has tonnes of vitamins and minerals that you body needs in fact wheat grass is so good for you 20ml of wheat grass is the equivalent of 1kg of assorted vegetables and fruit and remember to ask for orange juice as you body will absorb it 50% faster.
5) Stay off coffee you and I both know (or at least should by now ) that coffees bad for you (well not every once in a while but people tend to have too much now a days) ever had a migraine and go to a doctor - first thing they ask, do you drink coffee. It dehydrates you and filtering out that caffeine makes your body work overtime.
6) Reduce your alcohol – I’m not even going to say anything about this one
7) Watch you posture, how long can your body survive without food - a few weeks, How long can you body survive without water a few days, how long can your body survive without air - a few minuets, how long can it survive without a nervous system - it can't death is instant (that’s how hanging people works). Watching your posture will allow your body to function better in general and help you breath. Stand up straight keep your ears above your shoulders, chest up (you should feel like your full of pride) and butt out, or go see a chiropractor if your in Melbourne Australia I have got a great recommendation email me.
That covers the basics of what I do there’s more but follow these for 10 days and you WILL notice a difference in your energy levels no-one has ever come back to me and said otherwise.

You shouldn't be sleeping more than 10 hours per 24-hour day. I had this problem when i was a student. I would sleep more than 12 hours some nights, but the next day i would feel sleepier and want more sleep. Then i tried deliberately sleeping only 8 hours and having something to eat or drink as soon as i woke up and this helped me.

You need to go to a sleep clinic. They monitor the way ou sleep. What you mentioned are classic symtoms. Mostly what happens is in your sleep you forget to breath. Which leads to bad dreams and serious sleep depravation. Find out a sleep clinic in your area, you will thank me.
I found a bunch of sites in Google. I didn't look up the sites, but, do the research.

This could be a sign of depression. Something that has helped me in the past is to tell myself exactly what time I will wake up, and not have any doubts about it. I just say something like: "I am going to get up at 7:00 tomorrow morning, and I will be perfectly refreshed." I know it sounds stupid, but this really works! (By the way, I don't think your really depressed, it's just something that I've read about.)

Are you sleepy during the day? If you are a teen or early twenty something, this is common and will probably change.
If not this can be a sign of diabetes and other medical problems.
Tell us more.
