Gordon is mathematically still in it. I think realistically he is out of it . He would have to win the last 3 races and the guys ahead of him in points would have to crash out early in the race. I think Robby lied about throwing the padding out of the car. What else could he do but lie about it. I just hope that the penalty that he received will make other drivers not do it.

First to get this out of the way YES ROBBY GORDON LIED nascar cought him hahahahaha he got fined!!!! Well anyway I dont have anything against Robby so w/e. Ok umm Im not a Gordon Fan imma Jr fan but I will defintlly respact you when I answer this. No he is not to far out It is mathmaticaly possible for him to win. I really dont think this is his year though. I mean being 146 points out he needs a pretty solid race this weekend to be in the chase at all for the 2 weeks after b/c u can only make up what 150 sumthing points a race wich is nearly immposible. Idk godons a good driver and i respect him usually. You never know kenseth is starting in ther back gordon may gain some ground.Just dont get over exited. Email me what do u think of jrs chances this year. I think Jr will do it next year if not this

Jeff Gordon is too far back to win the title. He can't gain 7 spots and 100 some points in 3 weeks. It is possible but kenseth and johnson need to both have 3 bad races and that is not going to happen. Yes, i think robby gordon lied about the roll bar. They should call last week, the tale of 2 gordons. lol.

This far into the chase the top 4 would have the best chance. The next 3 have a very slim chance and the last 3 are out of it.But then that is my view. And as for the 5th title not this year.
Now as to Robby Gordon if he did throw this padding out then the punishment is just. But if it were on the track and he hit it then there is a aproblem.Sure Robby has had his share of run ins withNASCAR and other drivers and this maybe a way of penelizing him but if NASCAR deals this punishment to him what is it going to do if one of the "stars" does this? Will they put this same fine and dock points and probation to Junior,Jeff Gordon ,Harvick,Kenseth???????If NASCAR is not consistant with its punishment the this is just picking on 1 driver( I am a Joe Gibbs Racing fan so I am not taking up for Robby).

Yes, and YES!!! Why would Robby run out of the back of his hauler and try to avoid the cameras? He sucks! I pull for him sometimes, but I'm a Burton fan and that caution ruined the race for him!

Jeff? Its not the points that he has to make up, its the number of people that he has to pass to get there. There's no way that many drivers are going to have bad luck in the last three races.

Pretty sure he's out here and glad about it ... As for Robbie throwing that padding out when Nascar reviewed the tape they actually seen it come out of his car and the padding in his car was ripped.

Too far back to have a relaistic chance to win. I feel only the top three or four have a shot at it. And yes, Robby lied throught his teeth.

JG is too far back!!!! I ahve to say I have been on the message borads all day on nascar's website. I did not see him throw it out of the car. It could have fallen off of the car or blown out of the car. But the angles that were on T.V were not conclusive. It came out of the right rear quarter panel of the car. Going 180 mph i would think that would be kinda hard to do. SO I think Nascar blew this one. My opinion

The Gordon in the first part of your question is too far back to mount any serious charge for the championship. The Gordon in the second part of your question did look pretty guilty.
