Honestly, and despite all of the odds that are possible, and all of the papers written about it, the possibility of it is 50/50, just as everything in life is. People like to overcomplicate everything to ensure that they have a function in life, hopefully a paid one too, and that is why there are so many differing opinions on something like this. What is the chance that the lottery ticket that you just bought is a winner? 50/50, because it is, or it is not! It does not depend on the amount of tickets produced or the amount of purchasers, it all depends whether it is a winner or not. Good luck selling this to some people though. E.

If 4 pair of coins i.e. 8 coins are flipped, the possible combinations are :---

1) HHHHHHHH (all 8 heads)
2) HHHHHHHT (7 heads, 1 tail)
3) HHHHHHTT (6 heads, 2 tails)
4) HHHHHTTT (5 heads, 3 tails)
5) HHHHTTTT (4 heads, 4 tails)
6) HHHTTTTT (3 heads, 5 tails)
7) HHTTTTTT (2 heads, 6 tails)
8) HTTTTTTT (1 head, 7 tails)
9) TTTTTTTT (all 8 tails)

Out of the above 9 possible combinations, except the first two combinations, at least 2 tails are possible in the balance 7

Hence this probability will be 7 out of 9 which can be expressed as:--

The probability is 7/9
or
there is 77.77% probability of getting at least 2 tails if 4 pair of coins are flipped.

If by 4 pair you mean 8 coins, the odds are 4 out of 8. It's always half, no matter how many coins.

Depends on what your question means. If four pairs are flipped, what are the chances at least one pair has two tails? 25%. Or, if four pairs are flipped, what are the chances for at least two tails among the pairs? 50%.

There are four equal ways two coins flip: HH, HT, TH, TT. If you flip four pairs, TT has a 1/4 (25%) chance of being one of those pairs.
