I dont rub it and I am always careful to not apply too much, and yet it always smudges! What can I do to prevent this?

Always buy waterproof mascara.

The only mascara I've tries that won't smudge is from Estee Lauder. For the others, you can try to curl your lashes so that they don't rest on your skin when you blink. This can help cut down on the smudge. Another way is to go over your 'mascaraed' lash with a clear mascara so that the smudge is not obvious..

Cover Girl super thick lash comes in a smudgeproof type and it most definitely works. It is not about how much mascara you apply but about what type of mascara you use. Waterproof mascara is not necessarily smudgeproof.

use waterproof and don't touch it so much. the oils from your hand will make it smear. also wait a minute or two before touching freshly applied mascara.

There is a Maybelline liquid that won't smudge . It doesn't come off so great ; but it won't smudge .
