Dark Circles
Causes of under eye dark circles
1. Lack of sleep.
2. Inherited condition having a family with the kind of skin that makes dark circles more likely.
3. Fluid retention which causes puffiness that may cast shadows.
4. Aging which thins and relaxes the skin around the eyes.
Dark eye circles - Treatments and Remedies
1. Powdered fenugreek and milk are said to tackle dark circles. Apply a paste of fenugreek mixed in milk on dark circles in the night. Wash off in the morning and watch dark circles vanish for good.
2. Freeze grated cucumber. Massage the grated cucumber ice cubes on the eyes.
3. Soak cotton wool in cucumber juice or potato juice & apply around the eyes.
4. For eye puffiness, any tea bag (herbal is better, especially eyebright), slightly cooled, placed on the eyes while you rest.
5. To lighten dark circles under your eyes, wrap a grated raw potato in cheesecloth and apply to eyelids for 15-20 minutes. Rinse with warm water.
6. The best overall eye tonic is eyebright (an herb). Make a tea of it and either use the teabags or soak cotton balls or soft gauze in the tea and apply to eyes as a compress while lying down.
Tips on dark circles around or under the eyes
1. Get enough sleep. Try to go to bed a little earlier than normal.
2. Cucumber slices have a soothing effect on the eyes.
3. Use sunscreen every day and moisturize in the night preferrably using a good under eye cream.
4. Drink plenty of water to hydrate the skin.
5. Apply cold compresses.
6. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables. Iron deficiency can be a cause for dark circles around the eyes.
Using concealer to hide the under eye dark circles
The fastest cure for dark circles is to apply concealer. Choose a gold-based color that matches your skin shade exactly (the gold will counteract the blue of the undereye circle).
The most common mistake women make when applying concealer is choosing a color that's too light -- this only achieves a "reverse raccoon" effect. Another common problem: putting the concealer only under the eye. You should apply it all around the eye area, and be sure to blend well. Set the concealer with a light dusting of translucent face powder so that it stays put. And to avoid drawing attention to your undereye area, don't apply eyeliner or mascara to your lower lashes.
Often, the inner corner of the eye is the darkest part. A white shimmer pencil will cover it. Some companies manufacture a blueish or white pencil just for this purpose.

This could be false but I have heard from quite few people that Vitamin C really helps with dark circles. Also sleeping enough helps. They can sometimes be caused by stress too so if you are stressed in any way, just try to chill out.. That's about all I can think of at th moment - hope it helps!

Dark circles are extremely hard to get rid of, unless you want to look for an expensive cream that will attempt to sweep them off your face. Your best bet is concealer, one shade lighter than your skin tone. Mostly these are hereditary, and also people with fairer skin tones tend to have darker circles.

A friend of me has dark circles and puffy eyes, so a specialist once told her to drink gincobiloba, and it really works.
Try it, if it doesn't for you, you just have a great memory!!! lol

you cannot remove them..unless they are from being tired,,,then just get more sleep...if they are hereditary like most, there is a new prescription cream called Helexin(sp?) that shrinks the broken capillaries that cause the appearance of dark circles
