Travel by Zambia Airways if you are from Zambia. Else use South African Airways as they are well established. Best to search on the Internet as there are a number of smaller airlines that use e-tickets and are very cost effective.

Delta airlines has a nonstop flight from Atlanta to Johannesburg.
the lower international fares are travel Mondays thru Thursdays with a Sunday night stay. the cheapest months are September and October.

Talking about KLM I'll assume you're in Holland or somewhere in Europe. I always find Air France cheaper, readily available and quicker (connection period never more than 2 hours). Otherwise if you want to feel like you're in business class while you're actually in economy class, fly in SAA.

virgin is good as well but its abit expensive
i got a one way london heathrow - jhb for next yr march for just over £250 incl taxes.. google it
