yes!...Big Ben came back way too early!! that is why he is stinking it up...fist he came back too early from the Motorcycle wreck...then he came back too early from the concussion!!! i dont think he is going to start playing better until the very end of the season!!!...if the Steelers are smart they would start Batch!!!...and give there Franchise QB some time to heal before they really hurt him!!!

If you look at last weeks stats Ben didn't play that bad. Sure, he threw two interceptions but look at his passing stats. Now if you had asked this question last week I would have said yes, let Charlie Batch start. It was way too soon for Ben to on the field again. So this week? Stick with Ben. He is good... right now the Steelers, as a whole, need to make some improvements. You don't replace your quarterback unless there is an injury. Playing Ben last week and then starting Charlie this week just isn't a good game plan. If they wanted to replace Ben it should have been done last week.

X-Factor you are clueless about Batch. He isn't in Pittsburgh to be a starter. He is there because he is FROM Pittsburgh and they gave him a contract to be a third string QB because HE WANTS TO BE THERE. Now he proved he could play last year and got the chance to move up to back-up. If it came to a team that WANTED Batch as a starter he would have been GONE at the start of the season. He didn't want that though, he wanted to be in Pittsburgh with his hometown Steelers. Big Ben should be playing this week, if you have him sit what does that do. It took all that time for him to get in rythm at the start of the season. Yeah he had a bad game against Oakland and you could see he shouldn't have been playing. He did though. He should be ok to play this week and not so worried about taking a hit. Otherwise replace him in the game. You know like Bledsoe was REPLACED AT HALFTIME.

I'll back up what some of the others have said: Batch should have replaced Ben last week against the Raiders - not as a matter of disrespect to Ben, but because Ben was still not properly recovered from the concussion he sustained in the game against the Falcons (no matter what Ben insisted). However, he should be fully recovered this week, and he's got every right to start.
I wouldn't mind that we're losing this season, as long as our quarterback was/is healthy. If this were the best he could do in good health, then I would say that we, as fans, should all just shut our traps and let Ben work through whatever he has to work through to find his mojo again. He has most definitely earned the right to lead this team...as long as he's healthy. But he's not doing himself nor the team any favors by playing as banged-up - and we're not talking about pulled muscles here, we're talking about serious, repeated head trauma! - as he has been.
I think he should have sat for the Jacksonville game (week 2) because he wasn't fully recovered from his appendectomy, and he should have sat last week against the Raiders, because he wasn't fully recovered from the concussion. But (as far as I know), there's no reason he shouldn't start this week.

I love the steelers and big ben, but give the man some time to recover. By all means go wth Batch, at least for the next three
weeks.

Of course Charlie should replace Ben. Ben was never good at all. It was just the players around him.

To late for that should of a long time ago. Big Ben went a week without a blow or something bad so he should be fine this week. Charlie Batch needs to find a team that respects him cause hes a great player and the steelers spat on him by not giving him a chance...

I would like to see Batch start. Coach Cowher however is starting Big Ben.

Absolutely not. He should have sat last week, after his concussion. But there is no reason to sit him this week.
Country girl: Are you out of your mind? You are a Steelers fan and you would cut Ben. He is what this team has needed. Charlie is a good back-up, but that is it. Hell last year he was third-string. I am just glad that you are not in charge.

No... he has provided so many great memories for Steeler fans the past 2 seasons for them to turn on him like he is another Kordell Stewart or Tommy Maddox. He is the youngest QB to ever win a Super Bowl and if nothing else has earned the right to work through this funk of forcing redzone passes on his own time.
