What did you use the internet for? I once saw a Asian anime film in Japanese three years ago, and only the last five minutes. All I remember is that a young girl was screaming to her parents that she couldn't deal with them divorcing. She had a little animal friend with her. The ending was so emotional that I knew I had to find it. Finally I decided to just do a simple google search for, 'anime girls parents divorce.' Amazed I found the title "Junkers Come Here" which described a girl trying to deal with her parents possible divorce, and with a animal friend. I was amazed at the amount of information you can get from knowing so little about what you want. Are you amazed with our modern day technology?

Me. Am also amazed at what one can track on intuition. I took an individual from a news article in a foreign country. Based on information in interview I found educational and work history, current business in some detail. Vehicles in use by make and year, type of cell phone, favorite restaurant and vacation spot and more. I know more about this stranger then a lot of people I work with.

In another random search for background on "Goth" people in Europe, I followed links at "random" and wound up with two locations within 15 miles of my own house in Western U.S.

There are some really strange things associated with these and other searches. It would seem that knowing what questions to ask, and knowing what your really have when you "hit" it, would for the most part make hacking unnecessary. What is available can give one a feeling of real power

I grew up in and around libraries. My my mom was both a school librarian and taught remedial reading. When I was not in my own school library, I was at the library helping my mom update the card catalogs or volunteering in the public library. I remember how tedious it was to look through the card catalog, copy the book number and go to the shelf..to find the book was not there; then having to put it on reserve and wait forever for the library to call back.

Fast forward...what used to take weeks to do can now be done in a few moments. You can read an entire library book without leaving your home. I am totally amazed at the capacity the Internet gives to do research, have fun, find facts and shop. I love collecting music but often forget titles. I enter lyrics and immediately get the song and artist and off I am to Amazon to buy it.

Yes I'm amazed. I was just talking about it today. How when I was around 12 I would sit for hours listening to the radio trying to catch my favorite song, so I could hit record on the tape player. Now if we want to hear a song we can just look it up and hear it instantly. And I would have never thought back then I would be sending instant messages, and be able to look up pretty much anything with a few key strokes on the computer.

Yes it is amazing. We can learn of anything we can think of, practically, if we know how to search for it. We can see sights we would have never seen. Talk to people around the world. Watch Astronauts in space. And, even track Santa Claus on the NORAD Radar at Christmas time. It is awesome.

It's like a complete library in your home, but definitely more fun than looking at a bookshelf. Its interactive with sound and video,no end to what you can do.
