I have been working in the shipping department for a new aerospace company for the last one and a half years. With this job I am responsible for International Hazardous Material shipments, International palletized Government shipments, many containing millions of dollars in equipment, and also meeting serious fiscal related deadlines. (Besides all the other everyday in country shipments) The company is about 400 to 450 people strong and it is only my boss my coworker and myself in shipping (3 of us). In the past year and a half the paperwork side of the job has increased greatly as well as many other regulations. And to top it all off, I've been bending over backwards to make sure everything gets where it needs to be no questions asked.
What do you think this kind of work is worth?

Sounds like you're doing a good job. Keep up the good work. You may need to ask for an evaluation and discuss salary as well as danger pay.

Thank you first of all for taking on such an important profession. Secondly, easily you should get 40k yearly. Also remember any benefits you have (health, dental, vision, etc..). If you have good benefits, it helps provide a security blanket for your future...so money sometimes is not the most crucial.

well in the south it would be 10-14 dollars a week in the northern part and everywhere else it would probably run about 20-30$ a week maybe.

The answerers so far have awarded you an unfairly LOW pay.
In another country it would be about100% higher.
It never ceases to amaze me that Americans have such low wages.
