Unforgiven II?

Question

What is the song Unforgiven II by Metallica about? Does the character in the song find redemption or is he still unforgiven at the song's end? Also, does he kill the woman in the song and if so, why? Or am I totally off the map on this one?

You're quite right!
Well,Unforgiven II, is actually about Satan (Lucifer),who's sentenced to be alone & away from society in the world.
(The 1st Unforgiven, was also about Satan, but the atmosphere of the lyrics where much despaired than this one, & were about "how cruel the society, or Power, can be.")

Now, here Satan falls in love with a human female, (Exactly as in Black Sabbath's N.I.B!) & turns into a lovely creature!
He starts trusting her in all ways & gives her his heart (which can obviously be noticed in the song's first verses) & hopes if she makes him purified. ("...make my demons run.")
But, when the girl realises that "Our hero" is actually Lucifer,
she abandons him...& that's when Satan realises that she's no worth, & perhaps is another unforgiven. (...or are you unforgiven II?)
Then, he kills her-probably- ("The door is closed so are your eyes."), & ends up by finding a great solution to fix his sad affair:
"But now I see the sun...".
Actually Lucifer turns the girl into a demon, just like himself, so that they can love eachother! (" I take this key & I bury it in you...)
Finally she's transformed into another twisted Unforgiven...(...Because you're unforgiven too!)
And here's a flip to the first song, which show us that, everything's the same...Even for her! (Never free! Never me!)
[in N.I.B, the ending is not clear, wether they're happily married (!!) or not!]

Anyway, this is one of Metallica's best!
