No... the American robin doesn't actually bob along, that's good song lyrics but not true, they're a very graceful and well balanced bird. The big bird bobbers are the grackles, they all bob along, up and down just bob bob bobbin along, and around here they like to do it at McDonald's. Starlings do some bobbin too, but not the robin.
