Strange, but in certain circumstances, it is true that people who do not know him, avoid him. And at times it is difficult for me to make him believe in himself - when i do observe this...

That has nothing to do with him being Chinese. It has everything to do with how he views himself with others,,!! ESTEEM!

Your friend needs to except himself for who he is cause if he doesn't nobody will. There will always be people who are stereotype. Besides he shouldn't worry what people think that's just there opinion. I don't know if he knows it or not but that shouldn't matter cause he already has a wonderful friend and now a day's all you need is one good friend less drama and stress. If he's a nice person he'll be fine cause there are wonderful people out there who don't judge like myself.

i may suggest that the answer to ur worries has smething to do with his feelings also. u dont have to explain verbally or nytngs lyk dat, jus make him feel the ryt feeling of belongingness to ease his self doubt abt how people perceive him. doing a lot of xplaining and blah blahs will only confuse him. i gues first hand example shud come from u first since u sound lyk a dear frend to him

I don't know your age, middle school, high school, adult, but he needs to learn not to care what other people think. If he's constantly worried that people are judging him he's going to feel self-conscience & that is going to show and he will be shy & withdrawn & not have many friends. He needs to change his attitude & be more outgoing.

Tell him looks dont matter and take to a place where he can forget how he looks. Usually, taking people's minds of things is the best until something makes them remember.

your friend has to learn to handle himself and his own experience. just be his friend but don't dismiss his feelings. he will get through this so have confidence in him to deal with it.
