Right now, trees are coming between you and global warming, climate change, disruption of agriculture, food shortages, etc. You could show a little appreciation for what the trees are doing for you to begin with.

Secondly, who pays for this paper? Do you bring your own, or is it just another example of a resource that the school or the American taxpayer provide for you, and which you take for granted?

I've worked in schools which provided no money at all for teachers to buy supplies. Everything had to come out of their own salary, and most teachers are underpaid for their education and skills. I have even heard of a teacher picking a printer's business card out of a pool of vomit outside a bar, so she could call him later and beg for copy/printer paper for her class. For the record, it wasn't me!

What you said was disrespectful. Your teacher might have called you a spoiled brat, but he is probably more mature than you and has learned not to take such thoughtless comments personally. It's one of the things you have to learn in order to survive as a teacher.

It would have been a good learning experience for you to figure out how to print it all on one page. Anyone who uses the word tree-hugger as an insult and protests against saving paper is just plain ignorant. If you were my student I would make you plant trees and then flunk you anyway.

You're a joker, but you should apologize to him in private. He was trying to teach you & the rest a pretty darn good lesson. It's great to have everything consolidated onto one sheet. Cut him some slack from now on.

Keep in mind the tree he is saving is one that you may need later in your life. He didnt seem angry because he is proud to be conserving our natural resources and your foolish name calling comes from ignorance , not cruelty.

well if he wasn't upset by it, i wouldn't be too worried, he probably knows what you're like anyway. and teachers don't always make the rules, he may have been told to get his students to cut down on paper usage, schools are tight@sses
