Certainly Not! Karma cannot be stopped.
But, the good news is that, the effects of evil karma can be mitigated very effectively by counterbalacing by doing good.
Start by thinking good- genetrate positive thoughts, vibes.Think harmony, love, peace.
Start by speaking good- be humble and polite in speech, be forgiving.
Start by doing Good- do good to others in whatever way possible. If you see someone hungry and begging, give him alms, give him food.
Let there be harmony in thoughts, words and deeds.
Remember lords name. whenever possible. siliently in your heart. Its a potent drug for your evils thoughts, words and deeds.
This is practical and sure way to get rid of negative karma.Believe me.

The answer depends on what you mean by 'karma.' If you are simply talking about the idea of what goes around, comes around; I will simply rest a case or else I have to go into details of the causal law.
Karma in Hinduism is a different story. For your purpose, consider 'karma' as a ticket and it comes with two different versions: good version and bad version. Like simple Math, they can cancel each other.
Hinduism holds reincarnation goes on almost forever. During your lifetime, you accumulate both good karma and bad karma. If you accumulate more good karma than bad karma, in your next time, you'll be born to a better rank in the caste system. But if you do accumulate more bad karma, then you'll lower your caste rank in your next life or in the worst, you'll even reincarnate into a beast or an insect.
The accumulation of good karma is not all there is. Suppose you accumulate a whole lot of good karma, you'll even become one of the gods, but eventually you'll reincarnate. So the point here is life cycle goes on.
The ultimate purpose of karma is to have zero karma. Not a bit of good over bad or the other way: totally zero karma. This is what allows you to get out of infinite cycle of reincarnation; called Moksha.
So the answer is YES to the question of if karma can be stopped.

Good question.
I will answer as clearly as possible to your questin without having to avert the norms set by spirituality for the public domain.
First of all the answer for your question is "yes".
But the method that you have suggested in the question is absolutely wrong and absurd.
The right approach is this :
Take a step on the spiritual path and develop yourself internally and "spiritually"
This will make your mind and youself better internally.
And you will attract (and develop) good qualities in yourself.
Bad quality in yourself will decrease.
Thus you will avoid doing bad karma.
And do what is good and right.
The art is to cultivate this inner "energy" and NOT waste it.
The rest is almost automatic effect of this process that I have elaborated over here.
More details on this I can't put on the public domain.
Hope this much will be helpful to the reader(s).

All actions create Karma. The positive produces more of the same. The negative produces negative. It isn't a matter of balancing the scales, but minimizing the bad and maximizing the good. Each will follow you until you learn how to burn it.

No Karma can't be stopped, that's why you're not suppose to do anything to hurt anyone on purpose. I have a saying that i like to use about Karma: "Karma's A B*tch, That's Why She's My Friend".

Karma is so loopy. it could relatively backfire on you and function your mom go away extra money so which you could scouse borrow. it could % to allow you enhance some sturdy faith which you would be able to ruin out with it and that's the undertaking that karma has for you,. this is saying circulate good forward, head out and shop on doing what you %. it should help placed your very own noose around your very own neck and it must be which you by no skill even know which you probably did it to your self.

I do not know I guess it is one of life's mystery's
No matter if I am good or bad it will always come to me bad. I have tried to be good and all I get is bad karma if I do bad, it still comes back but worse.
So I give up
I can't win either way
I hope you have better luck then I do

Yes. I will tell you a small story to illustrate the point
There was a prostitute and opposite to her house there was a mendicant living under a tree. The mendicant spent most of his time praying to god . He used to notice men going in and coming out of the house opposite and thought how bad this woman is and started putting aside one pebble for each man she catered.
on the other side the pros felt very sad for her destiny and she was praying to god saying"o lord how sacred is the mendicant who spends his time in praying.I on the other side is a grave sinner without redemption. Can you not be a little kind to me"?
in course of a few years the pebble became a heap.
soon a day came when the messengers from heaven and hell came to pick up the sinner and the saint.
The messengers of hell caught hold of the mendicant and those of heaven went to the house opposite.
The mendicant protested saying they have mixed up their identities. No Mr said a messenger from the hell You are the real sinner because you were meditating on her sin and keeping count of it where as she was thinking of god and praying for redemption from sin"so you go to hell and she to heaven.

Not if you are only doing good in an effort to outrun the bad that is bound to catch up with you. But the good news is, all shall come to pass and you will have learned from your mistake so in the end I guess you could actually say it evens itself out.
