Because DNA is identical, and it is the unique genetic code from which we each emerge. With twins - DNA is the same, as are the chromosomes, but the proteins, cells and organs which are transcribed/expressed from that DNA may vary slightly.

They are identical because they share the exact same genes/chromosomes from both parents. When the zygote split in half, both halves got the same amount.
