PA Senate Casey vs Santorum (incumbent) 52.8 to 40.8 Note the margin of error puts Casey below 50%. Dems think this is in the bag. While Casey may be ahead, he does not have the 50% to win.
MT Tester vs Burns (incumbent) 47.7 to 45%. Statistical tie. Below 50%
OH Brown vs Dewine 53.5 vs 41.3%. The margin of error may put Brown over 50%. Still a lot of undecided people.
Do you see that this site is calling elections, without mentioning the margin of error? None of these races really tell anything. It looks like the Democrats are leading, but nothing can really be claimed from the statistics.
This is what the media does, report stories that they want to have happen. You have to have 50.1% plus the margin of error to be stastically winning. Above are 3 that are supposedly in the bag for the Dems and the polls actually say something very different.
Class dismissed. :)

The tables are turning, remember how screwed up their polls were before the presidential election? Even with the lies of the liberal media, they couldn't win. I believe history will repeat itself.

It's not in the bag. The mainstream media seems to want us to think that. OH & PA look bad, but Santorum has come back from the dead before. I really hope he does again, he's a good man. It looks like Reps will hold VA & TN. Senate will probably become closer, & with RINO's like Chaffee & the 2 Maineiacs, effective control will be very iffy. It also remains to be seen what Lieberman will do. After the way Dems have treated him, he may caucus with the Reps.
The house looks worse. It may well be sometime Wed before we know who will control that.

You are giving the worst case scenario. In PA, assuming a 3% error Santorum could be from 43.8 to 37.8, and Casey from 55.8 to 49.8. What that means is the _best_ Santorum could hope for is 43.8, and Caseys worst is 49.8. Not quite what you led folks to believe. Casey is ahead - statistically, and it is the relative numbers that are important here. Don't worry, I'll correct it for you tomorrow night.

I have never thought Democrats have it in the bag. If it was decided, we would have no reason to vote. The final count will tell the outcome, it has been different than reported by left winged media for over 8 years. Trying to mold the outcome through the media does not always work.

It's not in the bag for the Dems, but it's not a slam dunk for the GOP.
And undecided voters can play hob with any stats either side can come up with

House goes Democrat. Having Nancy Nutcase Pelosi in charge for two years is the best thing that could ever happen for the Republicans. Winning the House most likely means we lose the Presidency in 08.
Senate stays Republican.
George finally gets to use the veto stamp.

Everyone should take a second to read this. I do not believe the Dems had it in the bag (nor did I ever feel they would), but this goes to show how the media can be misleading on these sorts of issues

You should really feel proud as a Republican. You have controlled Congress and the White House for six years and you are bragging about the fact that you might not lose the House or Senate this year. You go ballistic when you can talk about Kerry for a couple of days and don't have to talk about what you have done or haven't done for the past 6 years. You sure have a lot to be proud about.
