try to raise her with responsibilities and morals and to be focused. I thank God she is doing so well with her life. However, I have relatives who have grown children who were supposedly raised good, but they don't have a life and are not going anywhere in life. I was talked about and criticized for my parenting skills, but my way paid off. What would make the parents not try to encourage them to get out and do something consrtuctive with their life?

Sweetie you sound like a good role model. Some parents are over protective and don't let children learn from their mistakes. Others let their kids have free reign with no bouandaries. You probably had a good realtionship with your daughter - one where you sat down and really told why you were raising her a certain way and what your rules and expectations were, as well as why she should always strive for excellence. Good for you - I bet you are so proud!

Sometimes people are just born with a goodness about them.It sounds as if your daughter is one of those types of people, and I would bet you are too. None of us are ever going to be class 1 parents, nor will we agree on the best ways to raise a child. What worked for you may not work for the mother next door, and being over vigilant about making your kids do what is right can backfire and you will have those types of children who just get by, without initiative.

Maybe they have been....maybe they tell their children to do something, but the children don't listen. Maybe your daughter saw the way you raised her, and told her that she didn't want to be like her mother, so did everything she could to do well in life.

Man... well I am not saying that you are but never hit her or tell her to do this one thing. Instead give her choices and she will think about it and talk to you about what she will do with her life. You have got to keep her busy mentally with choices for her life later on.
