My apartment manager allows people to build illegal sheds. says she going to tow unregistered cars away and never does. but I hang two tarp to protect my car from the weather. Even thow there nothing in the contract aganist it. and the nieghbor down about five apartments down has a fulll inclosure. the dont tell him to take his tarps down is that legal

You say it's an apartment. Your lease probably gets you an apartment, plus permission to park outside. It's probably silent on the canopy/tarp issue. That means you don't have permission to do it.

I would just take my tarps down and start looking for anothe r place to move to. Don't make a fuss or they may get upset and have you evicted. Just look for somewhere else to move to that maybe has a carport or garage or something .

After all you might not like it but he sez what goes like it or not, I have been a renter in the past I know and you can do nothing about his rules but move when the lease expires.
