There was a fairly famous one back in the 80s or 90s in the U.S. that was on TV a lot. I don't think it was Jerry Falwell.. but someone like that.

Here are two who got in trouble - Jim Bakker and Jimmy Swaggart
In March 1987, it was revealed that Jim Bakker had a sordid love affair with Jessica Hahn, a former church secretary. Jim, whose wife Tammy was known for her garish makeup and revealing outfits, had given Jessica $265,000 of the ministry's money to keep her silent. He also defrauded his supporters of $158 million by overselling the shares for lodging at his religious theme park, Heritage USA. He was convicted of 15 charges in 1989.
Jimmy Swaggart wasn't convicted of anything but he was defrocked for a time. He denounced Jim Bakker for his activities, especially with Jessica, and then in 1988 it was discovered that he had been involved with pornography and had hired prostitutes.

Jim Bakker went to prison for obtaining money falsely (fraud and tax evasion). Remember his bizarre-looking wife Tammy Faye?
