I have to write a paper for my ethics class, I have to argue for and against an ethical issue, the problem is I cannot use topics already used in class, abortion, euthenasia, drug legalization, animal rights. Anyone have any good ideas for a topic?

Another "usual one"--stem cell research a.k.a "Using your twin brother for spare parts"... oh, let's not forget genetically modified products.

But writing about something that you don't hear about every day is a better idea. Most people have already formed an opinion about where they stand on these "big issues" and are usually less willing to even read your paper if it goes against their "beliefs". Your teacher might give you a credit for picking a topic that is less debated by general public. For example: "reintroducing wolves into the environment", "rebuilding houses destroyed by floods, fires and earthquakes in places where they will be likely destroyed by the same few years down the road"....

Looks like they have most of the standard topics covered, except they forgot capital punishment. This is another classic that offers a LOT of literature and research. You will find endless amounts of information for and against capital punishment.

Maybe you could write about the war in iraq.
Even though people say "they never attacked us, were we just supposed to wait for them to get 'round to it. or the North Korean Uranium enrichment program and the failed missile test, was it a failure, or a clever ploy to get the worlds attention.

You can draw parrelels between Iraq and Vietnam, is there really a timetable for with drawl should there be.
