It really depends on how you like to play. Personally I have played a hunter up to level 60 and gone on a few raids with him, I gave up the class (and faction) eventually then re-rolled as an undead warrior. I have never played a rogue, but its important to note some of the differences. 1)Hunters don't to well at all in melee combat (there are very few exceptions) while rogues thrive at it.2) Rogues do almost 100% melee dmg, although they can use a bow, but dint have the auto shot capability 3) Rogues wear leather, Hunters at level 40 can wear mail. 4) Hunters get a pet 5)Rogues have a good form of crowd control, a hunters ice trap (and wavern sting if he is lucky) are almost never used as crowd control.6)rogues can stealth, unless your a night elf hunter (which only get shadowmeld, so you cant move while your in it) you cant as a hunter.
Some of the simulates, both have similar roles in a group. Both are DPS classes, there are noobish stereotype for each (ex all Night elf Hunterssuck and so do all Undead Rogues).
It depends on your personal preference, personally I think I would go with a rogue over a hunter. I loved the hunter class but it sucks always having to worry about melee attackers JUST getting close to you.
