Ideally you should start thinking of college when you enter high school to make sure you take the courses you will need for college admission. If you begin later, you may not get the college of your choice but you will be accepted into college provided you have graduated or have a GED, it will be harder though and you may have to go to a community college to do bridge work for what you missed in high school. If you have been out of school for a while, and first start thinking of college, there are places for you as well. Its never too late to think about a college education.

When you entered high school you need the list of classes required to graduate the high school first, in the sophmore year start looking at classes required for the 2-year Colleges in your local county (yellow pages). If you were moved to different high schools, then you will for sure have a problem getting past high school, cities have different class graduation requirements some are for frilly reasons not job or health after high school. Meaning extra work for the high school student, to catch up; even socially.
It is possible to design a high school plan for a college minor, some honor classes are equal to 1/8 a semester at a 2-year AA/AS program college. What happens is part of the 2 year college program is a repeat for honor students, easy as 3.141. (the first 3 weeks in AA program for 1 honor class in high school, 3 weeks to hangout and chill).

In middle school or junior high, before you get to high school. From the moment you enter high school, your grades count towards scholarships. My daughter has been on a college-track since 6th grade, taking advanced placement courses. This year, as a sophomore, she took the SAT so she can have time to re-test if she's not happy with her score. It's never too early to start thinking about your future and making plans for it. Good luck!

i think you should look into colleges once you have some idea of what you'd like to do with your life. at least then you can begin to narrow careers down, and find out about enterance requirements at different schools.

cheers!
