She galvanized religious leaders to speak against the social trend that Marilyn was part of. It was a similar phenomenon as when Mae West was blackballed in Hollywood. As some have said, they were unrepentant bad girls. They were essentially the poster child for the 'loose women' of their day. A similar thing took place in recent social experience with Madonna.
Marilyn Monroe was no theologian or saint, but she was one that gave lots of examples to preach against by those who were or thought they were.

I doubt Marilyn Monroe had any influence on religion. I'd bet there are no examples of any sermons that mention her.

although i am not completely sure....i think that Marilyn Monroe had an impact on religion because:
1)she herself believed in it
2) she was a very famous
actress during that time
