What are we really doing here? We are living. Some people more so than others. If you spend your whole life looking for some cosmic purpose then you will waste your life bypassing the joys that it has.
We live, we die; it's an endless cycle repeated generations before us and it will continue for countless generations to come. To call perception reality is both true and false - to call it all an illusion is undoubtedly false. The only illusions are the ones we create for ourselves. As the expression goes, "Choose your illusion".
Life is very much a paradox: we would not know good without having known bad. We would not know love without hate and neither would we know joy without sorrow. It's a dichotomy that can not be understood, it can only be lived with.
Enjoy as much as you can while you can and make yourself great by helping others enjoy it as well. Then, when the time comes, die happy.

Realities which we creating domestically and globally might be referred to illusion. Life itself simply is.Eternal one. Does not care about microscopical dramas we creating. Realities we create is a sum total of our beliefs. For individual or for all humanity it is the same...So our beliefs would be crap...all of it,leads nowhere feeding ongoing dramas and there is no such a things as good or bad beliefs...all of it...as our beliefs will be gone then life will become clearly visible, simple and beautiful...Realities based on our existed and existing beliefs very well described above. The answer to that dilemma cannot be found with mutual effort, for it creates nothing but social divisions based on collective fears. That only known way to construct something does not represent a whole and never will. Solution would be found within any each of us personally and not by some one else from side...

I keep on thinking what you are saying,,, yes what you saying is true but that's reality ! What can we do about it. If only I'm powerful or maybe God, I may have some revision with some earthbound nature rules and policy, we are but followers... Do you believe that our destiny is already written before we are born? Just make the best of what we can do so when we leave earth there something worthwhile done while living... We are here its because its God's will and that's beyond our human capacity to be an authority to answer.

Read Shoppenhaur. We are attached to the back of a streetcar. We go where the car takes us, we do the best we can where ever we may be, till we are hauled to the next location. It is a fragmented journey, the purpose is the journey. To learn, live, cope, and die.
Or try one of his disciples, his contention is that we all develop nesicary fictions to get through our life because at the core, we live to die, or only real purpose her, like any organic organism is as a mechanism to maintain the species, we eat, fornicate, raise the next generation and then die. So create some fictions to convince yourself there is actually some meaning in hanging out in Yahoo Answers or watching a reality tv show, or listening to some medicre music du jour.

I think everyone asks this question from time to time. "What are we really doing here?" Well, in my opinion, I guess I have to believe there is more to life than this. What would be the point to all of this, if there was nothing after? What a waste of time! And yes, life is really like a game, and if we play our cards right, we'll get a lot out of it. I believe Life is what we make it. No matter what choices we make, right or wrong, they are our choices, and we made them. That's Life!

I believe every single person is here for a reason; one we may never know. Yes, you are right. We spend our whole lives worrying about jobs, school, money, our children, and etc... but what do we have to look forward to or work towards? A whole lot. The Bible assures us that God has left to prepare a place for us. A place we could never begin to imagine. You have to have faith, and believe with all your heart and soul that he will come back. We are his workers. Our whole days work shoudl be about furthering his kingdom, not our own.
Yes, you do hear everyday that prayers make things better. Prayers always help and make things better. They may not make things better in the way we want, but in God's will they were made better.

In a way yes. At certain times in my life I feel like it is too good to be true and it seems like an illusion. Sometimes I wonder if we are being watched or are just puppets of somebody or somebodies. When time flies I feel as if i am in a movie and am being fatsforwarded. So yes life does seem like a game kinda like the Sims!

Good question, provocative. No one knows. I wonder about people who say they hear the word of God. Prove it. Life IS like a game in that all of us are living with a generally accepted set of social rules. However, there are some who claim a devine plan is at work. As with the afterlife, is there a beforelife? Why don't religious people ever talk about a beforelife? And why don't these same religious people thank God for things like Katrina? After all it was God who blessed them with the good things, so why isn't it God who blessed them with the bad things like Katrina, or cancer?
Life is good. I like being here. I do not know where I was before, nor do I know where I will be after. So, not knowing, I live my life to learn new things and I don't worry about what was before or what will be after. If as the religious people say, God made us in some sort of devine plan, than I am saved already since God knows why he made me a skeptic about God and religion in general. How can God NOT save me if it was God who made me this way as part of his devine plan?

Life is like a video game, a virtual reality of sorts in which our soul participates to experience and grow. Its a place we return for the drama, the laughter, the highs, the lows, the happy and sad, good and the bad. Earth is merely a contextual field in which we play out characters and scenes that contribute to the evolution of our soul's consciousness. It is the ultuimate tool of conditional separation that shall lead us back to remembering our true selves, we are one, unified being of love.

Life is a....jail sentence!
Jailed in a material body, made of earth, water, fire, air, with a mind and intellect...
Since conception,we have been forced to take birth, some in rich families, some in poor Africa...It's all according to previous karma or actions during past lives!
If the poor people had the power to choose, would they have chosen such birth?
Even birth in rich family can be horrible,as one can get kidnapped or geel suicidal, due to some love affair...
So....levfe is just a continuous series of births and deaths, represented by the hindus by a wheel or swastika.
Religious persons are supposed to teach us how to get our of this cycle, and go to God...but most don't seem to know,or just pretend!
Only a genuine spiritual master can teach you how to stop this cycle, which is very tiresome, repetitive, illusory, and even dangerous...
Srila Prabhupada,by translating the Gita, showed us this way,and by following his instructions,we can get free of karmic life....and be free..for ever!
