How do you clean the bottom of a Louis? I'm pretty sure it's made of the epi-leather stuff or whatever and it's gotten pretty dirty. From what I've read, it's not a good idea to treat it with chemicals but to use a damp cloth with/without soap. Your thoughts/suggestions? Thanks!

use a mild soap and make sure to get it all off, oh and use a washcloth you dont want it to get it too wet it might damage it.

just to clarify... is the bag made of epi leather, or is it the natural vachetta? epi is the textured leather, which is dyed and treated - for that, a damp soft cloth will do... for vachetta leather (i'm imagining that your bag is either an alma, cabas, or montsouris?), a mr. clean magic eraser (use it DRY) works wonders, then treat it with "apple garde".

Warm (or even as hot as you can stand) TERRY washcloth - no soap.. it will dry and stain. Use a little elbow grease and back to new!
