Good question weng! Its very hard, but let it go over your head. The fact that he is your boss makes it difficult. Try to feel sorry for him that he is so insecure that he has to be arrogant. We cant like everyone all of the time. Dont make it a problem for yourself, its his problem let him get on with it. Just do your job and be polite, dont a*s e lick, just be yourself.... Your boss will probably appreciate that more. Get to know what makes him tick and concentrate on that. If he does or says anything you dont like just be assertive without being rude. Its not what you say but how you say it that matters! I hope that you are happy in your job. If your boss affects your happiness in your work, then it may be best that you look for another job. I hope it does not come to that stage. Try not to let his arrogance get to you, alot of people are like this.

Arrogance is often a shield for insecurity. Do small acts of kindness. Nothing so big as to be "sucking up," but things that will peck away at the shell he has constructed. For instance, make drinks for your co-workers and include him. If you buy biscuits or cakes, make sure he is included when you share them out. If he looks unwell or concerned, notice it just as you would do with any other of your colleagues.
Whatever you do, do not get into arguments, they build walls. What you can do is, if he says something you disagree with, ask him perfectly reasonable questions so that he can see the flaws in his logic himself.

I can´t! I try to chat and talk with them, make friends but it is so difficult when all they do is make smart *** comments, so I stop trying! If I know I have tried at least once thats enough!
If it was my boss Id find another job, live is too short to be unhappy 8-12 hours a day!

Hey, you know that you can use that to your advantage? As ignorant as you might think he is, you could stroke his ego and talk about how "wonderful" he is all the time.
Talk to him about him all the time, make him feel important. You will be surprised how fast you will move up the food chain.
Consider it a sarcastic joke to yourself, just so that you don't gag when you do it.
Most of the time I have found that people that "toot their own horn" a lot are just really insecure, so they become arrogant just to mask that. Use it to get ahead. Trust me, it works!

dont try, usually arrogant people will try to take advantage of nicer ones, so if your nice to him he might take it as a sign of weakness.
just do your job and thats it. your there to earn a check, not to be nice.

I don't try too. If he was my boss I would just do my job. I don't have to like him.
