kids swear enough when they arent in the presence of their parents; the household should be forbidden
If they're going to have any class in the real world,
they ought to learn to exercise some restraint
but dont f*cking take my word for it...

Never as long as they lived under my roof! I would never allowed it and they respected me for it. You have to earn respect and I guess by getting stern with them at times paid off. Your sis inlaw is for a bad awakening if she doesn`t stop at least the 13 year old else you might say end up in juvenile or whatever...I would hate to be in her place. She should have came down on them when they were younger and she wouldn`t be going through this crap with them..

You shouldn't allow your kids to cuss at any age. What is that teaching them? My kid would get popped in the mouth if I heard them cussing.

Sad and disgusting. I would have knocked my children out if they dreamed they cursed. They are grown now and I still do not allow it in my presence. Seems like parents today are training animals for tomorrow. My bad, I am giving animals a bad name.
Barbarians is more suitable.

Even as an adult I would never use a swear word in front of my parents, not that I go around using bad words anyway.
Whenever I hear a kid swear, I always think what rotten parents he has.

She lets her children talk to her that way? She has evidently not taught them to respect her, you can't change that. However, you can let them know that you won't tolerate being talked to in that manner, and if they are in your home, you can set the rules. You also can ask them to leave if they don't respect those rules. It's not pleasant to be around children that haven't been taught any better.

Its disrespectful to cuss in front of your parents, except for maybe "damn it" when you drop something, but my grandma would still give me a dirty look. It's up to what you feel is acceptable in your household
