I have been waiting for that one. I thought with the WNBA starting that if it succeeded, it would show that there is an interest. But, so far I havent' seen it. I see an answer above says there is a league, but it sounds so small. I'd like to see a lot more teams and coverage.
I have been a baseball fan since I was 8 and then discovered fastpitch in college. I loved it!! I actually find it to be a more exciting game than baseball now. So much more small-ball skills are needed. It's fast paced and it's a sport where it is possible to legitimately hit over .500 if you're a good slapper or drag bunter. I definitely prefer small ball to cheap easy home runs that dominate the MLB today.

Only one way that I know of for an idea like a women’s professional softball league to get started is for someone to try to create one. It takes someone with a vision and ability to sell that vision to people with the financial resources to make that vision become a reality.
Sometimes the television networks are the best places to look for sponsorship. The American Football league was started with money from a large contract with CBS. Once the sponsors are in place it is up to the athletes and teams to make it exciting so that it can generate enough revenue to continue to operate.
If you are the person with that vision then go for it. If you are not that person then look for the person that is and give them your support. That’s how things get done. Good luck

A pro softball league already exists, it just isn't gaining enough attention rightnow. The league is the NPF (national Pro Fastpitch). There are currently seven teams and include players from our national team that play on these league teams in their off season. This year they started a tour of softball play called the Pro fastpitch x-treme tour (where amatures meet pros).
Hope this gives a little back ground so you guys can look out for games that are near you!!!!

There already is with teams in seven different cities/states including Philadelphia, Chicago, Connecticut, Texas, Akron, Arizona, and then New England. And more teams are expected. The games were also televised on ESPN 2 over the spring and summer.

Yes, there should be. Most Sports that Women play are not represented properly, like the Mens Sports.

Yes it would be a good idea. But sports is all about money and ratings would not be high for a women's league.
