Do gentlemen still wear undershirts under their dress shirts? I honestly have no one to go by but my husband, who is breathtakingly old-fashioned, and who would rather be staked to an anthill than wear a shirt without an undershirt.
So, what's the story? Are there undershirts under those sharp dress shirts & ties, or what?

I use undershirts. Not all the time. If it is cold. Or if my chest hair can be seen through my white dress shirt. An undershirt also can help absorb moisture from places like the underarm and avoid stains. I prefer the tee-shirt type undershirt to the tank/wifebeater type that my grandfather used.

Yes. We all wear undershirts under dress shirts.
And it makes sense, really. They are more comfortable than the dress shirts, and it keeps you warmer. The undershirt absorbs sweat so it doesn't show on your dress shirt. Some dress shirts are kind of see through, and the undershirt helps with that too.

YES
T shirts are extreamly popular even just wearing around casualy.
But it is still good form to wear a white t-shirt under a dress shirt. Tank T's in summer, normal T in spring and long John T in winter. And yes you should have a tank T on in the summer because its bad form to see a man's niple under a white dress shirt. At least in formal dress

An undershirt keeps the heart warm, and the the body temperature stable.
Any problem with it if you do not wear it yourself ?
Is the hubby questioning you wearing a bra ?
Having said this... You seem to be a nice loving lady. Happy man !!

Not I, said the dog. Whenever I put on a full suit, I sweat worse than Richard Nixon.
I need to vent off the heat, not trap it in. No undershirt

im 21 and i do it helps to absorb the sweat and avoids or puts off the pits stains.
