Johnny Depp could have anything he wants if you ask me, he is gorgeous! Did did an outstanding job in Curse of the Black Pearl and I will be rooting for him.

He is a good actor, but funny doesnt make an actor brilliant. There are great actors out there (Al pacino, Bruce willis, John Travolta) usually old, but some young and becoming starts (leonardo Dicaprio, Brad Pitt). Honestly i dont think Johnny Depp can stand up to these actors, therfore, not get a golden globe. Sorry for the disappointing answer ...

Seems to me that if actors who win the Oscar who were nominated the prior year should have won for the previous nomination. This is like the "I'm sorry - we screwed up last year - you should have won. Here ya go" award.
Example: Nicole Kidman nominated for Mouin Rouge - denied
Next year won for The Hours which was pretty lame.

I think the first one was way better and you kind of already get the gist of how his character is after The Curse of the Black Pearl.

I hope so, I think that it's not all actors that would be able to play the role like he does. He is excellent.
Good luck Johnny

He would have my vote but...
the Oscars tend to go for things more cerebral.
