This is 2006-- shouldn't homosexuality be accepted by Republican leadership?

"Louis Rove left his family during the 1969 Christmas holidays and moved to Los Angeles where he eventually "came out." According to Rove's father's best friend, an openly gay man named Joseph Koons, "Louie didn't hide the fact that he was gay. But he didn't play it up either." The Architect describes Louis Rove as a shy man, encumbered by his three hundred pound figure. To encourage Rove to socialize, Joseph Koons, invited him to join a retired gay men's group called the "Old Farts Club," jokingly referred to among the men as the "Rainbow Casket."

I pretty much agree that it's a non-issue and should be treated as such.

Yet, I also see the ironically difficult place having gay family members puts politicians that stand on the unequal treatment for gays platform while also declaring family as the most important thing to value. Republican doublespeak, but what can you expect. They campaign on a family values platform but they put money into war, drive up the national debt reducing the value of the individual's dollar, try to legislate what people can do with their own bodies, and are NOT the party that actually puts *resources* in the hands of children and family.

What hiding? Your assertion is contradicted by the article. It clearly implies that Louie was a private man. It wouldn't have been Rove's place to speak about his Father's sexuality. If you're going to make such an assertion, why not show him making direct denials and avoidances when asked about his Father?

Let me see. you found this info on the net, and yet are claiming it was "hidden".
Is there some law that states that all of your relatives have to claim their sexual orientation, if you wanna run for office?.
Isn't he allowed to have a private life?
The part you copied, stated that he was a private man, yet you chose to ignore his wishes, Just so you can "prove a point".And say something nasty about Karl Rove, Why Are Clintons sexual adventures, out of bounds because he is allowed some privacy, yet a man that is just merely related to Karl Rove isnt allowed the same respect.Your a perfect example of the liberal hypocrasy that tires most of us Americans.
Its called respect for one another,Basic civility. try it!
